Collaboration Project with a goal to redefine denim in menswear.
The key inspiration for the project stems from relooking at how denim transitioned from workwear to modern fashion. The interesting aspect of denim fabrics is that with time, wear and tear gives way to unique characteristics. Over time, as denim become trendier, these processes are mechanized for mass production. While efficient as it may be, I found the overall process lost a unique culture true to denim.
Treating denim is a craft, and there are many ways to treat denim at every stage. The natural distress and wear of the fabrics thus becomes the core inspiration to this project.
